MINISTRY
Three decades of preaching, missions, and chaplaincy.
I currently serve as Pulpit Minister at the Northwest Tampa Church of Christ, where I have preached since 2020. Before Tampa, I served congregations in Midland and Leander, Texas, and from 2017 to 2020 as minister at Central Church of Christ in Del Rio, Texas. Concurrently, from 2018 to 2020, I served as Head Chaplain at Val Verde Regional Medical Center in Del Rio, overseeing chaplaincy for the hospital and its hospice. Earlier, my family and I lived and worked for several years in Ecuador, where I planted the Iglesia de Cristo Cuenca Centro. My ministry there was shaped by the people of the southern highlands, who were with me when I began to read Scripture with new eyes.
I am a board-certified chaplain through both the Association of Certified Christian Chaplains and the Spiritual Care Association, and a CPE Supervisor/Educator through the Institute for Clinical Pastoral Training, having completed four units of Clinical Pastoral Education and four units of Supervisor-in-Training, with a specialty certification in grief support. Chaplaincy taught me what preaching could not: how to sit with people in the moments words fail.

Actualmente sirvo como Ministro de Predicación en la Northwest Tampa Church of Christ, donde predico desde 2020. Antes de Tampa, serví a congregaciones en Midland y Leander, Texas, y de 2017 a 2020 como ministro en la Central Church of Christ en Del Rio, Texas. De forma simultánea, de 2018 a 2020, serví como Capellán Principal en el Val Verde Regional Medical Center en Del Rio, donde supervisé la capellanía del hospital y de su unidad de cuidados paliativos. Anteriormente, mi familia y yo vivimos y trabajamos durante varios años en Ecuador, donde fundé la Iglesia de Cristo Cuenca Centro. Mi ministerio allí fue formado por la gente de la sierra sur, que me acompañó cuando comencé a leer las Escrituras con ojos nuevos.
Soy capellán certificado por la Association of Certified Christian Chaplains y por la Spiritual Care Association, y Supervisor/Educador de CPE a través del Institute for Clinical Pastoral Training, tras haber completado cuatro unidades de Educación Pastoral Clínica (CPE) y cuatro unidades de formación como supervisor, con una certificación de especialidad en acompañamiento en el duelo. La capellanía me enseñó lo que la predicación no pudo: cómo sentarme junto a las personas en los momentos en que las palabras fallan.
